He has spent his career as a leader in global macro and alternative investment strategies and is the author of two critically acclaimed books on global macro investing, Inside the House of Money: Top Hedge Fund Traders on Profiting in the Global Markets and The Invisible Hands: Top Hedge Fund Traders on Bubbles, Crashes and Real Money. In recent years, Steve has focused his expertise on building partnerships that connect the global macro investment community with innovative asset managers and technology companies.
Prior to founding Clocktower Group in 2007, Steve built a global macro research business, and previously worked for Deutsche Bank in London, Zurich and Singapore. Steve holds a MSc in Finance and Accounting from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BS/BA from Bucknell University. Steve lives in Malibu with his wife and three kids, and enjoys surfing.
David is a London-based Venture Partner, advising Clocktower Technology Ventures on originations, investment execution and portfolio management in the UK and Europe.
David was previously Co-Founder and CIO of Prologue Capital, a highly successful fixed income global macro hedge fund. David’s earlier career in trading spans JP Morgan, Greenwich Capital and Goldman Sachs. David holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham. David lives in Mayfair with his wife and young child.
Ally is Clocktower Technology Ventures’ Head of Platform. She focuses on bending the outcome curve for portfolio companies by harnessing insights from, and deepening connectivity across, the portfolio, Clocktower Group’s curated and trusted global network, and the financial services ecosystem more broadly.
Prior to Clocktower, Ally worked in Private Capital Markets at FT Partners and as a Venture Fellow at Pear VC while earning her MBA from the Wharton School. Before Wharton, Ally built her career at JPMorgan Chase, most recently as a Digital & Fintech Strategist and Chief of Staff for the Global Technology Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships organization. She had previously been a founding team member of the Corporate & Investment Bank’s FinTech In-Residence program after spending several years in Equity Derivatives Hedge Fund Sales. Ally received her BA in Economics from Vanderbilt University.
Shaneez Mohinani focuses on Clocktower Ventures’ climate strategy, investing in early-stage companies that help mitigate climate change, adapt to it, or enable the transition to net zero.
Prior to Clocktower, Shaneez was a climate investor at Pear VC, while simultaneously earning her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She also worked at GenZero, Temasek’s decarbonization-focused multi-stage investment platform. Prior to business school, Shaneez spent six years at Goldman Sachs, most recently as Executive Director in the Asset Management Division.
Shaneez holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and earned her Bachelor’s degree with a major in Finance from Singapore Management University.

Prior to Clocktower, Adriana was a Strategy Associate in Chase’s Digital Payments team where she worked closely with all consumer-related payment products to develop consolidated roadmaps, business cases, and strategic initiatives. Before joining Digital Payments, she worked at J.P. Morgan as an Investment Banking Analyst focusing on M&A transactions across Latin America. Adriana is originally from Ecuador and holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
Ben manages Clocktower Technology Ventures and is responsible for all of Clocktower Group’s private market activities.
Ben was previously Director, Investment Associate Program for Bridgewater Associates, where he worked with the firm’s CIOs on strategic priorities, talent development and research. Ben began his career as a VC and private equity investor with Wasserstein Perella. Ben also co-founded Artivest fka Resonance Funds, an online issuer of actively-managed exchange traded vehicles, as well as Waterfall Mobile. Ben holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in philosophy from Yale University. Ben lives in Bel Air with his wife and two young children.

Sebastian Mallaby is the Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). An experienced journalist and public speaker, Mallaby is also a contributing columnist for the Washington Post, where he previously served as a staff columnist and editorial board member. He is the author of The Man Who Knew: The Life & Times of Alan Greenspan, winner of the 2016 Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award and the 2017 George S. Eccles Prize in Economic Writing. His writing has also appeared in the Atlantic and the Financial Times, where he spent two years as a contributing editor.
Mallaby’s interests cover a wide variety of domestic and international issues, including central banks, financial markets, the implications of the rise of newly emerging powers, and the intersection of economics and international relations. His previous book, More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite, was described by New York Times columnist David Brooks as “superb”; it was the recipient of the 2011 Loeb Prize and a New York Times bestseller.
Mr. Schwartz is currently a Strategic Advisor to Partners Capital Investment Group, a $26 billion global outsourced investment office serving sophisticated institutions and senior investment professionals in Europe, North America, and Asia. He is also a Partner of Unplug Meditation. Prior to Partners Capital, he most recently was the Chief Investment Officer for the Broad family office and the Broad Foundations, managing a global investment portfolio across all asset classes and strategies. Prior to joining Eli Broad, Mr. Schwartz was a Managing Director at Reservoir Capital, an opportunistic investment firm currently managing over $5 billion, where he served in various roles and on a number of fund investment committees and advisory boards. Prior to Reservoir, he was a Vice President of Acquisitions at Internet Capital Group. Mr. Schwartz graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in Organizational Behavior and received an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Jeremy Stein is the Moise Y. Safra Professor of Economics and Chairman of the Department of Economics at Harvard University, where he teaches courses in the undergraduate and PhD programs, and serves on the board of directors of the Harvard Management Company.
From May 2012 to May 2014, he was a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Before coming to Harvard in 2000, Stein was on the finance faculty of M.I.T.’s Sloan School of Management for ten years, most recently as the J.C. Penney Professor of Management. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor of finance at the Harvard Business School from 1987-1990.
He received his AB in economics summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1983 and his PhD in economics from M.I.T. in 1986. Stein’s research has covered such topics as: behavioral finance and market efficiency; corporate investment and financing decisions; risk management; capital allocation inside firms; banking; financial regulation; and monetary policy. He has been a co-editor of the Quarterly Journal of Economics, and the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and on the editorial boards of several other economics and finance journals. Stein is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a past member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Financial Advisory Roundtable. In 2008, he was president of the American Finance Association. In 2009, he served as a senior advisor to the Treasury Secretary and on the staff of the National Economic Council.
Benjamin Weston most recently served as Global Head of Alternative Investments and Chief Investment Officer of the Alternative Investments Department at Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Prior, Weston was CEO of Helvetica Wealth Management Partners, an asset management company controlled by Credit Suisse and the State of Qatar. Weston was previously chief executive of Merrill Lynch Alternative Investments, where he was responsible for $26bn in assets under management.
Prior to joining the buy side in the late 1990’s, Weston had a long career in derivatives at JP Morgan, Bankers Trust and Credit Suisse in New York, London and Hong Kong. Weston has a Master of Arts in International Affairs with Honors in Economics from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Miami University.
Karl-Theodor Freiherr zu Guttenberg serves as the Chairman of Spitzberg Partners LLC. Zu Guttenberg first served as Minister of Economics and Technology and then as Minister of Defense in the cabinet of German Chancellor, Angela Merkel. As the youngest Defense Minister in German history, he led the most significant structural reform of the German armed forces since the Bundeswehr’s founding. Zu Guttenberg was a Member of the German Parliament (Bundestag) from 2002 to 2011, served as spokesman on the Foreign Affairs Committee, and was a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and Secretary General of Germany’s co-governing CSU party.
Zu Guttenberg is a Distinguished Statesman at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC, and served as Senior Advisor to the European Commission leadership on global Internet freedom. He sits on a variety of international corporate and not-for-profit boards. Zu Guttenberg is on the Board of Edelman, New York and on the Senior Advisory Board of BDT Capital, Chicago. He is a member of the International Advisory board of Barrick Gold, Toronto. He sits on the European Advisory Board of Samsung. He served on the Advisory Boards of ASAPP, New York, Ripple, San Francisco and AnchorFree, Redwood City.
Zu Guttenberg is an operating partner at Kodem Growth Partners, an investment firm in New York. He was on the board of directors of the German American Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta and serves on the board of directors of the American Council on Germany. He is also on the board of the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, London. Zu Guttenberg was a board member of Team Rubicon Global. During his time as economics minister he was Vice Chairman (of the Verwaltungsrat) of the KfW, Germany’s government-owned development bank. Zu Guttenberg has published numerous op-eds and articles, appears frequently on leading international TV stations and holds a law degree from the University of Bayreuth. He currently lives with his family between Wellington, FL (USA) and Bavaria (Germany).
